Our Pastor

Introducing Reverend William K. Riegle, Pastor.

 

Pastor Bill was raised in Indiana and has been part of the United Church of Christ for over twenty years.  He pursued his undergraduate studies at Ball State University in Indiana: following college he taught elementary education and worked part-time as a Youth Minister.  Over a three year period, Bill had several conversations with God regarding his “call” into ministry that led him to Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis, where he received his Master of Divinity degree.  Bill said that seminary not only prepared him for the challenges and joys of ministry, but also laid a firm spiritual foundation within him.  He used that foundation to help build the ministries of the churches where he was called in his over twenty years as an ordained minister.  Bill came to us from a church very similar in size to our own, as he was sole Pastor of the largest church in his association.

Bill is married and has three children, all boys and a daughter-in-law.  Although in 2014 he and his family had to endure the death of his oldest, married son.  God carried the family through the horrible tragedy and we, as a congregation, saw the faith and committment Pastor Bill and his family share.
 

Pastor Bill has brought many gifts to our church.  He is a creative preacher and possesses strong leadership skills, all while being an excellent listener.  His pastoral care is a priority in his ministry.  The following comments were made by some of his references:

Pastor Bill started with English Congregational UCC on September 25, 2011.
 

We believe that God led us to this exciting moment in our ministry… and so does Bill.  We look forward to growing together as a faith community, serving others and proclaiming the good news of God’s love.
