Outreach  Ministry
2015 Annual Report
September 1, 2014 ~ August 31, 2015

Outreach continues to focus on our core projects:

                                                                    Our 5 for 5 collections

One Great Hour of Sharing – Channels resources for international programs in health, education and agricultural development, emergency relief, refugee ministries, and both international and domestic disaster response, administered by Wider Church Ministries, Global Sharing of Resources.  With your help our donations totaled $159.00 compared to last years’ $697.00.

Strengthen the Church – Grows the UCC’s future by funding The Stillspeaking Ministry, new and renewing churches, youth and young adult ministries, and lay and pastoral leadership formation—especially among women and people of color; administered by your church’s Conference, Local Church Ministries, and The Stillspeaking Ministry.  With your help our donations totaled $187.00 compared to last years’ $170.00!!

Our Church’s Wider Mission – Some of the benefits come to our congregation directly from OCWM funding.  No special collection is taken; funding is allocated in our church budget.
However, we do have a few congregational members who give to OCWM weekly.  For our Annual Report period we’ve sent a total of $245.00 on top of the monthly $167.00! AND since the Stewardship Committee designated that 10% of our earnings from the Endowment Fund, we were able to send an extra $974.65!!! What do you think we could do if everyone put an extra $1.00 with their regular giving each week?

We hosted two Project Days in February & May for the 6th grade social studies students at H-BR Middle School who wanted help with their school assignment.   Thank you to all those who chose to help and volunteered, it is truly appreciated!!  Each student donated $10 to help with the cost of materials, however the money was donated to the church.

The Outreach Ministry has focused our collections over the past few years on the 5 for 5 offerings, and a few local projects that impact our immediate area (i.e. Crop Walk).  We feel we can make a greater impact this way, and also strengthen our identity as a church committed to following Christ in word and deed.

In Christ’s love,

Your Outreach Ministry members:
